Leadership accountability mainly for financial measures, not much about people measures and building long term sustainability
Leaders are accountable for and measured mainly by the financials (by boards and shareholders) but not some of the fundamental factors that lead to long term sustainability of organizations. eg. Building and engaging a sustainable organization culture/environment and customer base, Developing strong leadership pipelines, Leadership involvement and accountability in building an engaged and committed workforce (esp. next generation of leaders) and ability to successfully drive change proactively far beyond just 'cutting' creatively.
The 2013 (North America) study conducted by the Center for Leadership Development and Research at Stanford and The Miles Group reveals that boardrooms are giving poor grades to CEOs for their mentoring skills and board engagement – but still prioritize financial performance above all else. --http://www.gsb.stanford.edu/cldr/research/surveys/performance.html
