Creating flexibility by creating a “fractal” structure.
Individuals need to experience their working world as the business experiences the outside world- they need customer and supplier relationships with their peers and outside businesses, but not just that, they must also have investor and mentor relationships, and contractual and legal relationships too. These relationships must embrace the risks and hazards that the business faces in the outside world.
These relationships must be self-elected just like the real world so that they can flex and change as circumstances dictate.
If the fractal is complete then when the individual serves these relationships they will also serve the purpose of the “whole”.
Mirror the constraints, structures and forms of the business as a whole, right down at individual level.
A fractal has symmetry in each direction by definition.
From wiki
"A fractal is a natural phenomena and a mathematical set. What they have in common is a repeating pattern that displays at every scale."
I love your fractal approach. I think that in this approach mirroring down isn't enough the process needs also mirroring up. There must be an equilibrium between the needs of the whole and those of the individual ore a team.
